Beth Robinson was appointed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in November 2021, filling the seat vacated by Judge Peter Hall. Prior to her appointment to the Second Circuit, she served as an Associate Justice on the Vermont Supreme Court for nearly a decade.
Before she was appointed to the Vermont Supreme Court, Judge Robinson worked at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Washington, D.C., and then at Langrock Sperry & Wool in Middlebury and Burlington, Vermont for eighteen years. She also served as Counsel to Governor Peter Shumlin for nearly a year.
Judge Robinson graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College in 1986, and University of Chicago Law School, where she was elected to Order of the Coif, in 1989. After law school, she clerked for Judge David B. Sentelle, of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
